After physical therapy ends, the exercises come home with you.
A 2025 national survey of 1,006 U.S. adults asked why home exercises get skipped. Three of the answers:
All three get easier with a set time, a room, and people who expect you.
How it works
Bring your homework. We build the session around it.
Your PT's exercise sheet is the starting point, and a photo on your phone is enough. Your lead weaves what everyone brought into one Qigong flow. Every session is different, because every group is different.
A session
What 45 minutes feels like
Your lead takes the group through a warm up, the fused flow built from that night's homework, and a cool down, all set to electronic music. The movements come from exercises people already know, so you can follow from the first minute.
Who it's for
This is for you if you finished PT and want company
You were sent home with exercises, and you would rather do them with people, at a set time, than alone with a printout.
Why with people
The hard part is coming back next week
Knowing the movements is the easy half. A set time, a room, and other people carry the rest of it. Everyone brings their own sheet, so you are doing your own exercises with other people doing theirs.
Common questions
What does it mean to be discharged from physical therapy?
It means you and your PT agreed you met your goals, or that your covered visits ran out. Either way it is a handoff, and most PTs send you home with exercises to keep doing on your own.
Do I have to keep doing my PT exercises after discharge?
Usually yes. That is what the home program is for. Your PT can tell you which ones matter most. If the sheet went missing, ask your PT's office for another copy.
How long should I keep doing my home exercises?
It depends on why you went to PT. Some people need a few more weeks, others keep a short routine for good. A useful question to ask your PT: what is the smallest routine worth keeping?
What if my pain comes back after physical therapy ends?
It is one of the most common questions after discharge. Some soreness when you start again is ordinary. Pain that keeps climbing, or that is sharp or new, is worth a call to your PT or doctor about a re-evaluation.
Can I go back to physical therapy after being discharged?
Yes. Ask your PT or doctor about a re-evaluation. Discharge leaves that door open.
Is Kelo physical therapy?
It is a group movement session designed with a doctor of physical therapy. You bring the exercises your PT gave you, and we give them a time, a room, and people to do them with. Anything clinical stays with your PT or doctor.
Do I need experience with Qigong to join?
Come as a beginner. The session is guided the whole way, and the movements are built from exercises people already know.
What should I bring to a session?
Your PT exercise sheet, or a photo of it on your phone. Wear clothes you can move in. That is it.
What happens in a typical 45-minute session?
Your lead takes the group through a warm up, the fused Qigong flow built from that night's homework, and a cool down, all set to electronic music. Every session is different, because every group brings different exercises.
I still have a way to go. Is Kelo right for me?
Kelo is for people who have finished PT and want a guided, social way to keep up their exercises. If you have new or worsening pain, or you are still in treatment, check with your PT or doctor first. That is the right call.
